Week 6 of the NFL season delivered a thrilling combination of comebacks, upsets, and impactful victories.

Week 6 of the NFL season delivered thrilling finishes, shocking upsets, and plenty of questions for teams across the league. The Denver Broncos opened the week with a 17–14 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in a defensive battle, recording five sacks on Sam Darnold while Seattle's offense struggled to find consistency despite another impressive performance from Jaxon Smith-Njigba. In London, the Houston Texans defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 34–31 in an exciting AFC South matchup, earning their second straight win after a 0–4 start, thanks to C.J. Stroud's outstanding play. The Pittsburgh Steelers also made a statement, overcoming a 16–3 fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 26–19 in overtime, with Aaron Rodgers connecting with Germie Bernard for the game-winning touchdown. Meanwhile, the Carolina Panthers upset the Philadelphia Eagles 25–14 as Bryce Young continued to show improvement and Chuba Hubbard powered the running game. The New Orleans Saints defeated the New York Giants 34–27, surviving a late comeback led by J.J. McCarthy, while the New England Patriots continued their upward trajectory with a 26–19 win over the New York Jets behind another strong performance from Drake Maye. In one of the weekend's biggest surprises, the Tennessee Titans rallied from a 13–0 halftime deficit to defeat the Indianapolis Colts 26–20, earning their first victory of the season. The Cleveland Browns also claimed an important divisional win, beating the Baltimore Ravens 13–10 behind a dominant defense that limited Derrick Henry and kept Baltimore off the scoreboard after the first quarter, as the Ravens blew another 10+ point lead. Finally, the Chicago Bears defeated the Atlanta Falcons 31–23 after building a 28–7 lead, although Atlanta's late rally exposed some defensive concerns for Chicago.

The afternoon and evening games brought even more drama, as the Arizona Cardinals stunned the Los Angeles Rams 18–16 on Chad Ryland's game-winning field goal as time expired. Despite Matthew Stafford throwing two touchdown passes, the Rams couldn't close out the game, raising further questions about their recent inconsistency and how they will cope with injuries. The Kansas City Chiefs delivered one of their most convincing performances of the season, defeating the Los Angeles Chargers 22–6 behind Patrick Mahomes and an explosive rushing performance from Kenneth Walker, while the Chargers continued to struggle to generate consistent offensive production. The Buffalo Bills survived a 33–30 shootout against the Las Vegas Raiders, with Josh Allen helping Buffalo secure a narrow road victory and handing Las Vegas another disappointing result after its strong start to the season. On Sunday night, the Green Bay Packers beat the Dallas Cowboys 23–13, building a 17–0 halftime lead and intercepting Dak Prescott twice. Although Dallas improved defensively, its offense again struggled to generate enough points. The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Washington Commanders 23–17 on Monday Night Football, maintaining their unbeaten record at 6–0. Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey gave San Francisco a commanding first-half lead before the defense held off Washington's late comeback attempt. As the season approaches its midpoint, the 49ers continue to look like legitimate Super Bowl contenders, the AFC North remains fiercely competitive, and the NFC East is wide open as the Eagles, Cowboys, Giants, and Commanders struggle to establish consistent momentum.

QUESTIONS I HAVE:

  1. Is Michael Penix more hurt than we thought after Andy Dalton signed?
  2. Will the Colts be sellers at the trade deadline?
  3. How long will Mike McDaniel remain the Chargers' offensive coordinator?
  4. Are the 49ers the most complete team in the NFL?
  5. Why are the Rams struggling so badly?

FACT OF THE DAY: Over the last two weeks, the NFC East is a combined 0-6-2. And two of the teams played each other!
